Well trying to get the house in selling condition takes up a lot of time, so probably no food posts up in the near future. So I decided to go with a tip that helps me a lot.
I don't know if everyone else's microwave gets as nasty as mine does, but it helps to have a method that makes cleaning it a breeze.
What I do is take your standard kitchen cleaner and throughly spray the interior of the microwave including the inside of the door until it is dripping. Then place a microwave safe bowl half filled with water inside. Set it for about 4 minutes on high and let it go. After the timer goes off let it sit for 5 minutes or so, then open and carefully remove the water bowl, it will be very hot.
Then just wipe the muck up with a rag, it comes off real easy, for me anyway.
Hope this helps, and until next time...

Well, I don;t know that this really made me drool, but here's a comment anyway. And since this post wasn't about cooking, this comment won't be about food.
Should I be able to make out the header of your blog? It looks like light blue lettering on a light blue background. I can make out the "Just me doing..." line. It's a little hard with it being white on the light blue, but it's visible.
But in order to see the "Man in the Kitchen" title I have to click and drag to highlight it. And the rest of the header is box is large with nothing apparent underneath the "Just me doing..." sentence.
I use Firefox, but I opened your page in IE with the same results.
Just thought I'd let you know.
Tah, I've got an image of a sky with some clouds behind the title and tagline of the blog. And I'm using IE, too. Maybe the image isn't coming through for you for some reason?
Probably my firewall then. I'll need to look at it at work one of these days if I think about it.
I use Firefox and I can see it ok...
Neo, I've been advised to use this method several times now to clean my microwave so it obviously works wonders! I haven't had the chance to test it out yet but when I next clean my microwave I definitely shall!
Hmm. Do you think it would damage a combination microwave (also an oven and a grill)?
Maybe I should give it a go. It's been far too long since I last cleaned the microwave...
Hieronymus I would say don't do it just to be safe, but what do I know.
Great tip Neo! Sometimes I just throw the wet cloth in there and nuke it, probably not safe but it works LOL :)
PS Your blog looks great and everything shows up to me, I'm using FireFox.
What's the bowl of water for??
Steam, the power of steam will set you free!! Combined with the cleaner, stuck on gunk has no chance. A wet cloth will work just as well.
Thanks for the comment. Tell all your friends.
